Automatic Filing of 1099 Forms to the States
Good news: The IRS recently announced that Form 1099-NEC for Tax Year 2021 WILL be forwarded
to the various states under the of the Combined Federal and State
And as usual, the IRS will forward Form 1099-Misc for 2020 to the
WageFiling.com automatically forwards 1099-NEC and 1099-Misc to the states in
the list below. There is no extra cost. The IRS will
automatically forward a copy of your 1099s to the
"participating states" shown below. (This happens after we
e-File your 1099s to the IRS). The state is determined based on the payee's
address. The IRS will forward both original and corrected
1099 forms. This IRS program is called the "Combined Federal/State Filing Program"
The following 30 states participate in the CFSF:
- If your payees reside in California, for example, and you DO NOT choose this
option, you could be liable for a $100 penalty from the State of California.
Other states may have similar penalties.
- We believe this program is the best and easiest way to comply with the states
who wish to receive the 1099 forms.
